For a worldwide logistics company, we managed a desktop migration project for 8,500 employees in 160 branches.
Our main tasks were the project management of the entire infrastructure project as well as the conception and implementation of the services. During the creation of the target architecture, we were able to place our in-house enterprise services platform (software provision, file management, printer management, order management, reporting services) at the customer's site. For this hosted environment, we planned, purchased, installed and configured the entire IT infrastructure at the customer's data center.
The existing core images were consolidated and reduced up to 2 images for the target environment. When the core images were created, the applications (mandatory and optional) were also subjected to a Windows 7 readiness check and 2,200 packages were packaged, distributed and maintained both classically and virtually.
After the completed migration and implementation, a term contract for the Enterprise Services Platform was concluded with the customer.
